Hudler Archives
The Hudler Archives are named after Richard Hudler, who became involved in HALO during 1976 and remains active today. Included in the collection are materials from the Coalition for Gay Rights in Ontario - Southwest Ontario Region 1982-86; AIDS Committee of London; Seniors Active in a Gay Environment; Sexual Assault Centre London; Sudbury Gay and Lesbian Alliance; Toronto Counseling Centre for Lesbian and Gays; Transsexuals; Winnipeg Gay/Lesbian Youth; and many other publications.
The Collection of the Hudler Archives contains Fond HALO, a donation of materials from the Homophile Association of London Ontario (HALO). The papers which make up Fond HALO have been inventoried and are accessible by appointment. Fond HALO was created in 1971 to preserve the history of the University of 深夜福利站 Ontario Homophile Association established in October of 1970 following the Stonewall Rebellion of 1969. The collection moved with the association when HALO acquired a building in 1974 on Colbourne Street. In 1993 the collection was closed and donated to the Pride Library in 1997. The HALO organization officially disbanded in 2005.
Some of the fonds (collections) in the Hudler Archives are listed below. Three of the fonds have an online exhibit: Body Politic, HALO Fonds, and Visual AIDS. Online exhibits of other fonds are in development.
